Dear Members

COMMUNITY SOLIDARITY PROTEST:
Abolish the ABCC!
The right to strike is a human right!

Tuesday November 13, 3.30-5.50pm
Outside Menzies House (Liberal Party HQ), 640 Murray St, West Perth

The Howard government's "IR Inquisition", the Australian Building and Construction Commission, has been given extraordinary powers to interrogate, charge and imprison building workers. Workers are being individually prosecuted and fined for taking "unlawful" collective industrial action, and unions and union officials around the country are being charged for things like insisting on their right to enter work sites, and encouraging full union membership on sites.

These restrictions on workers' and unions' rights are leading to rising deaths in the construction industry, and they are paving the way for more attacks on the civil rights of us all. In August, the ABCC banned the Eureka flag from Australian work sites on the grounds that it breaches "freedom of association"!

Come along to the community protest calling for the ABCC to be abolished: we need to kick Howard out and make Rudd do the right thing by workers and scrap the ABCC immediately if Labor is elected.

Organised by Community Solidarity, ph 0432 333 806 for more information.
Supported by the MUA (WA), CFMEU (WA) and AMWU (WA)
