I have received the following message regarding a meeting being held
concerning the glasshouse and am passing the message on via the MUASA
discussion list for the information of those with an interest in this
matter.   (I have indicated that I do not wish to speak on the matter but
that I would pass the information on).

Hi Michael

In regards to our telephone conversation, please find
below the details concerning the INFORMATION SESSION,
we are holding on THURSDAY 24th OCTOBER, on BUSH
COURT, MURDOCH UNIVERSITY.

Murdoch University is preparing to spend $500,000 of
libary funding towards the building of a glasshouse
facility for genetically engineered plants.

In this climate of budget cuts, I would like to
encourage staff to attend this day, as this
squandering of library money for this project WILL
affect both students and staff.  This wasteful
investment is unlikely to make a large longterm
economic return, and already considering the
strangling university budget it is unjustifiable to
invest so much precious university funds on an
unsubstantiated assumption of large future investment.

It is therefore crucial at this time to allow staff
and students at Murdoch University to participate in
this process of spending such a large some of money
that will affect us all. I am therefore encouraging
staff to attend on this day but also speakers to
represent the Murdoch Staff.

Please pass this information on to staff members, and
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow on Bush Court.
