Planning Positions at RMIT
The Institutional Research Consultancy Unit (IRCU), as part of RMIT's
Planning Group, has been established to develop, maintain and deliver
a range of institutional research reports required by the Vice-Chancellor's
strategic planning teams.
The principal function of the IRCU is to co-ordinate the collection,
organisation, and analysis of institutional data and other related
quantitative and qualitative information to support institutional
management, operations, decision-making and planning functions of
RMIT University. The IRCU is also engaged in applied educational
research, performance measurement, evaluation and assessment
research and related activities, and is proactive in the study and
advancement of post-secondary education.
The Institutional Research Consultancy Unit seeks applicants for three
full-time, continuing positions as described below.
Strategic Economist
HEW 9 (Salary range $60,273-$64,578) plus 17% superannuation
The Strategic Economist will provide briefings and discussion papers
on issues impacting on the post-secondary education sector to senior
University staff, and will be active in interpreting economic, industry,
social and education data, and have a long term vision. The incumbent
will conceptualise, develop and prepare reports, and undertake industrial,
demographic and economic modelling and be proactive in
environmental scanning.
Institutional Research Advisor
HEW 9 (Salary range $60,273-$64,578) plus 17% superannuation
The Institutional Research Advisor will provide briefings and discussion
papers on post-secondary education issues to senior University staff,
and will be active in interpreting past history and have a long term
vision. The incumbent will conceptualise, develop and review planning
documents and policies.
The successful applicants for the HEW 9 positions will have relevant
tertiary qualifications or extensive professional attainment, together with
demonstrated experience.
Planning Executive Assistant
HEW 6 (Salary range $41,617-$45,049) plus 17% superannuation
The Planning Executive Assistant provides independent, high quality,
confidential support, including executive level secretarial and office
management support to the Director, Planning and Coordination, and
the Head and team of the IRCU. The nature of the position requires a
great deal of regular contact with senior management in the University;
dealings with staff in other Universities and external agencies. A diploma
in secretarial/office management or equivalent and, prior experience as
an executive assistant would be required.
