[Unistats] Data suppression in aggregated datasets

Yes, this is quite a concern.

It would affect 97.2% of the records in our national data set, and essentially nullifies that data set.

I look forward to that conversation "so we want to start a widget making course, how much coverage does widget making get around the state?" "errr,  I dunno".

I'm happy to comply with a requirement to suppress numbers on the front-end, should they aggregate to a number lower than 10, but without all the base data totals will be all over the place.

Hi,

I just learn that DEEWR is going to suppress cells that are less than 10 in the aggregated data sets according to their new Data Protocol. This means that more than 90% of the records will not contain actual values.

I consider that the rule should apply only to data that is available to the public, but not to aggregated data sets requested by institutions that also observe the Privacy Act and use the data for internal analysis and benchmarking.

I would like to have your feedback to see how many of you share the same concern before negotiating with DEEWR.
