Interesting story at
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A62829-2005Mar24.html on how
Georgetown University students went on a hunger strike lasting more than a
week and won a better deal for university employees on hourly wages.

Jamin B. Raskin, chairman of the Maryland State Higher Education Labor
Relations Board, predicted nationwide struggle in the wake of the
Georgetown action. "We're living in an era where a lot of universities are
acting just like corporations," Raskin said, "and students are insisting
the universities stay true to their intellectual and moral heritage."
