Planning Positions at RMIT

The Institutional Research Consultancy Unit (IRCU), as part of RMIT's Planning Group,
has been established to lead and manage a team in the development, maintenance
and delivery of a range of institutional research reports required by the Vice-Chancellor's
Executive (VCE) project teams.
The principal function of the IRCU is to co-ordinate the collection, organisation,
and analysis of institutional and other related information to support institutional
management, operations, decision-making and planning functions of RMIT University.
The IRCU is also engaged in applied educational research, performance measurement,
evaluation and assessment research and related activities, and is proactive in the study
and advancement of the post-secondary education.
The IRCU seeks applicants for two full-time, continuing positions as described below.

Business Analyst

Salary: $53,470 - $60,217 + 17% Super + Packaging

The Business Analyst will be responsible for the provision of timely and accurate analyses
and be proactive in maintaining and analysing large and complex databases to support
the research and analytical capabilities of the IRCU.The position is also responsible for
undertaking analyses of surveys; analysing externally validated datasets and preparing
analytical reports.The incumbent will also be involved in the integration of a number of
performance measurement instruments, as well as liaising with other units within the
University and external agencies to ensure effective undertaking of educational research.


Strategic Economist

Salary: $62,383 -$66, 839 + 17% Super + Packaging

The Strategic Economist will provide briefings and discussion papers on issues impacting
on the post-secondary education sector to senior University staff, and will be active
in developing a forward looking, interpretive economic approach to a range of data.
The incumbent will conceptualise, develop and prepare reports, and undertake industrial,
demographic and economic modelling and be proactive in environmental scanning.
